Having been a musician for the early part of her life, Ryn (short for Cathryn) was shocked to find a home in the art studio when she stumbled into Drawing 101 during college. She quickly changed majors, received a BA in Studio Art from Mary Baldwin College, and moved to New York to pursue a masters degree at Pratt Institute in Communications Design. After deciding that six months of the NYC grind was enough to last a lifetime, she moved back to Virginia and went to work for Mary Baldwin College. Eventually she found her way to Savannah, GA and graduated from SCAD with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. She has been designing her way through life ever since.

Ryn currently lives in Richmond, VA with her dogs Peeler and Chewie. She splits her time between running her business, creative directing Richmond Grid magazine, and contracting with various agencies around the country. The brain-child of the 2013–14 blog/social experiment BatterUp, Ryn can still be found dropping off a cake when you least expect it. Having lost 175 pounds over the last few years, she spends a lot of her free time boxing at UFC Gym with her coaches.
